Upstairs/Living Room:


The Dish Network remote control controls the TV, the DVD player, and the Satellite receiver.

To watch TV:

Press the white “TV” button the remote (it will light up red briefly when you press “TV”).

Make sure the TV is powered “on” (a small white light will glow on the left side at the lower edge of the TV when the TV is powered on). If the TV is “off,” press the red “TV” button to power the TV “on”.
Next, press the “input” button repeatedly until the “HDMI-1 Sat” input on the screen TV is selected. This screen display will disappear automatically after a few moments.
Press the white “Sat” button on the remote (it will light up green briefly when you press “Sat”). (There may be a message on the screen instructing you to do this step).
You should now be able to watch TV. The channel can be changed, volume controlled, etc. using the buttons on the remove. (It is not necessary to press “TV” again to control the volume.) The “Guide” button will display a listing of programs available.

To watch a DVD:


Press the white “TV” button the remote (it will light up red briefly when you press “TV”). Make sure the TV is powered “on” (a small white light will glow on the left side at the lower edge of the TV when the TV is powered on). If the TV is “off,” press the red “TV” button to power the TV “on”.
Next, press the “input” button repeatedly until the “Comp/AV DVD” input on the screen TV is selected. This screen display will disappear automatically after a few moments.
Press the white “DVD” button on the remote (it will light up red briefly when you press “DVD”). Make sure that the DVD player is powered “on” (a small green light will glow on the left side below the word “SONY” when the DVD is powered on). If the DVD player is “off” and there is no small red light glowing on the left side below the word “SONY,” it is necessary to press the power button on left side below the word “SONY” on the front of the DVD player. If the DVD player is “off” and there is a small red light glowing on the left side below the word “SONY,” press the red power button (immediately above the red “TV” button) on the remote control.

You should now be able to watch a DVD. The “Play,” “Pause,” and “Fwd” buttons can be used to control playback, and the arrow buttons and the “Select” button can be used to navigate the DVD menus.

Downstairs/Master Bedroom:

To watch TV:

Press the white “Sat” button on the remote (it will light up green briefly when you press “Sat”). (There may be a message on the screen instructing you to do this step).
You should now be able to watch TV. The channel can be changed, volume controlled, etc. using the buttons on the remove. The “Guide” button will display a listing of programs available.

Note that the remote controls for the Living Room, and for the Master Bedroom look nearly identical, but they are not interchangeable. Make sure that the remote marked “1” on the top, and “Living Room” on the bottom is used with the Upstairs TV, and that the remote marked “2” on top, and “Bedroom 1” on the bottom is used with the Downstairs TV.
